Absolute last day of my academic career
so far, at least. I’m a tall girl, so I feel my education should be highest;)
How do I feel, followers? I am thrilled it is over. I really wasn’t feeling well this semester and I am really looking forward to fully devoting my time to the restoration of my health.
What do I think of my experience at St. John’s? For the most part, I was really unhappy there, but I did have some positive experiences and I think it did prepare me for the world. It was really hard as a commuter, and the student body wasn’t exactly what I was looking for, but I think I was really pleased with the professors and the quality of the education I received. I mean, st. john’s as an institution was pretty underhanded and wasteful with finances, I feel, but the professors who were not coaxed by stj into early retirement, my god, some of them are the most amazing creatures to exist. I don’t remember ever being so fond of a prof/teacher before, but some of them were truly extraordinary. Unfortunately, the classroom environment never reached it’s full potential, because the science lectures are too large, while in the other classes like philosophy, some people are just brain-dead. I swear, the most interesting lecture on earth, and some (more than half, really) people are 100% uninterested. (btw, I used to have facebook in highschool, so I know that you can actively use it maximally for like 10 min, and any excess time spent is out of sheer boredom; I’ve seen people on it during the whole duration of class!!). It puts a damper on a discussion and it just upsets me because I feel less motivated and inspired.
What i mean to say is, St. John’s was aiight. good professors, some really nice students, 3 mill dollar gold statue and the same research labs from the 70s. I hope I don’t sound bitter, it’s really a decent place to learn and grow. It just wasn’t for me.
Anyway, I’ve got the summer to look forward to!
